Fear and Faith are both acquired.

• Fear reminds us of our limitations.
• Faith trusts in God's ability.

Types of Fear

• Imaginative fear says, "What if I..."
• Irrational fear says, "How will I..."
• Rational Fear says, "I will..."

But when I am afraid, 

I will put my trust in You.

Ps. 56:3

Communion combats fear by reminding us:

• By faith I am accepted.
• By faith I am secure.
• By faith I am significant.

Confidence in the Gospel

Pastor Rich shares four truths that can give us confidence in the gospel.

Philippians 1:1-6

¹ Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus,

To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons:

² Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ³ I thank my God every time I remember you. ⁴ In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy ⁵ because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, ⁶ being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Truth #1 - I didn't start the relationship, God did.

Truth #2 - I am a work in progress.

Truth #3 - We serve a God who is faithful.

Truth #4 - God will work on you until you die.
